Praise Poems! Feel free to share any ideas that you might have.

I will be posting my own draft when I get around to it this week.  I am looking forward to seeing who, or what you are going to praise in your lives!

Enjoy your vacation and don't forget to check your syllabus!

  1. Well I was thinking my lips just because everyone always comments on them.
    my height because I'm short and people always have the tendency in reminding me.
    or something else , but I'm still not sure .

  2. I'm thinking either my singing voice or my hair. People like my singing voice and people always play with my hair when I'm not looking. S.O.S!!

  3. Lymarie, I love the idea about writing about your height!

    Marlyssa, What do you love about yourself?

  4. I love both of the things I commented on. that's why I said S.O.S but now that I think about it I like my singing voice more then my hair so. :/

  6. Wesley, I don't have a problem with you writing about your guitar, but I think you're selling yourself short!

  8. Hey how does this sound?

    My voice can be a gentle river or a waterfall.
    It can be waves crashing into the rocks or a smooth stream.
    It can be smooth as silk or rough as sandpaper.
    It can be gentle or harsh.
    It all depends on my feelings towards you.

  11. Okay, so I have no idea what to write about. I have no special talents or anything extraordinary about me to write about... Does anyone have any ideas?

  12. I'd suggest you write about your eyes or hair because both are pretty. If you're going personality wise may i suggest your kindness or smartness?

  13. This is what I have thus far. Any comments are welcomed.

    The Glory

    Sharp - ever so sharp - all which may be seen;
    The world is but a world: there's a universe to be observed.
    And observe they do indeed - ever sharp and ever keen.

    The dark, almost violet-like shade of red
    Which is seen behind delicate walls each morrow;
    The fuzzy, blurred, distorted browns,
    As they look upon the floor;
    Observe, they do, the transparent vapor,
    Which wafts from a morning mug.

    But, as the sun rises above the humbled horizon,
    That which was once blurred becomes clear;
    That which may, no, must be seen is seen:

    A milky sheet of snow, dropped one winter's
    morning, much like summer does with dew;
    The brittle bark which desperately clings
    to the side of a well-aged pine.
    The gentle rippling of the river's tide,
    As it moves so knowingly on its journey.
    This is nature's portrait.

    The often smeary masses of paint,
    thrown upon coarse sheets of canvas;
    The rolling hills - the stark and lifeless trees;
    The gentle beaches - the overwhelmingly tall mountains.
    A labyrinth of creative complexity, unfathomable in thought,
    Yet ever so clearly seen.
    Delicate pages – products of human thought;
    As per proclivity the pages of books they do observe:
    The tall “T”s, the adventurous “X”s, the hair-standing “Z”s –
    The amazingly, depressingly exciting quality
    of an author’s penned ‘The End’.

    They – my eyes – are my greatest gifts.
    From whom they were given I know not;
    But know, I do, upon them my life depends.
    Sharp, yet often tired, they see me through each day;
    And stay with me throughout my years I do so hope they may.
